Easter is almost upon us. A nice long weekend where you can do a lot of different things. Whether you want to visit family, plan a fun activity with friends or just choose to be on your own for a while; Easter is the perfect time to do whatever you want. Easter egg hunt

Diving back into your childhood? An old-fashioned Easter egg hunt is still a fun activity, even if it might feel like you're too old for it. Now, you can of course hide normal eggs like you used to do, but you can also choose to hide something else. Think of small gifts, for example! Gather some family or friends and have everyone bring a gift of a few euros. Once all the presents are hidden, the game can begin. Another creative way of finding Easter eggs is to make it a scavenger hunt. First you have to decide where to do this; the forest, your own neighbourhood, or maybe your backyard. Let your friends or family guess the location of the eggs through puzzles, assignments, or other ways. This way, you can be creative and have your family or friends do the craziest things.

Watching the newborn lambs

Spring has arrived, which means animals can be seen outside more often. This includes sheep and their newborn lambs! All over the Netherlands you will find farmers opening their farms during Easter so people can come and see their new lambs. For example, you can choose to go to Texel for a day (or two days). The island has as many sheep as inhabitants, making it a unique experience to go there during Easter. Take hiking trail De Hoge Berg, for example. While you enjoy the fresh spring weather yourself, you can see the little animals roaming freely everywhere. Running around over the large meadows and between the woods.  

Cooking or baking together

Easter is great for staying home for a few days and not having to do anything. Instead of going to a social outing, you can choose to get comfortable at home. Maybe you've had that one recipe you've wanted to try for a long time, or you've been craving homemade chocolate chip cookies for a while. Meet up with a family member, your partner or a friend and make it a fun day together. For example, you could choose to spend the whole day in the kitchen making a delicious Easter dinner. Or you could bake cookies for the family you will see in the coming days. As they say: the people who give you their food, give you their heart.

Find peace among the flowers

The flowers are starting to bloom again, so it's the perfect time to take an afternoon stroll. You can do this, for example, at Keukenhof. The event is open from March 23 to May 14 and definitely worth a visit. You will walk among the beautiful colourful fields and various gardens. Or go to the Tulip Festival in Amsterdam. Here you can see the beautiful Dutch tulips at different locations in Amsterdam, like for example in the Amsterdamse Bos or on Bijlmerplein. Finally, you can visit a botanical garden. A day for yourself

Of course, you can spend Easter with friends or family, but you don't have to. You can also choose to just spend a day pampering yourself. Get a face mask, run a bath, and make sure your tablet is charged so you can turn on your favourite movie. Or hang on the couch with your favourite snacks. Whatever it is, make sure you take a moment to completely relax and recharge for the rest of the month.

Organise an Easter egg tasting party

You can hide eggs, but you can also choose to replace them with chocolate Easter eggs. In supermarkets you have different kinds of flavours on the shelves, so you can easily turn it into an Easter egg tasting. Or order some on British Corner Shop, they have a lot of different flavours and deliver worldwide. For example, an orange Smarties egg or Munchies egg. Make sure the person tasting the chocolate egg doesn't see the packaging of the egg, and then have them guess which one they just tasted.
